Our Wildfire Prep Service is designed to reduce those risks through practical, targeted work on the parts of your property that matter most. This is not a landscaping service, junk removal service, or full property clearing package. It is a focused wildfire mitigation service built around defensible space, fuel reduction, and long-term property readiness.

A full 8-hour day on-site transforming your property into a defensible space against wildfire.

This service is built for rural homes, cottages, and properties where trees, brush, and accumulated fuels increase wildfire exposure. We focus on the areas with the greatest impact on fire behaviour and work through the property in a deliberate, risk-based way.

What the base product includes:

Home Ignition Zone

We reduce combustible vegetation and organic buildup immediately adjacent to structures, identify ignition risks at decks, stairs, and foundations, and address fuel accumulation directly impacting the structure.

Intermediate Zone

We remove ladder fuels in priority areas near structures and access routes, improve spacing between trees and understory growth, and selectively reduce dense, continuous fuels that can carry fire toward the home.

Extended Zone

We thin overcrowded or high-risk tree groupings in accessible, high-impact areas, remove small dead or declining trees up to 8 inches in diameter, and reduce concentrated fuel loads where they contribute to fire movement.

Tree Structure and Condition

We prune for vertical and horizontal separation in key areas, remove deadwood and hazardous limbs in proximity to structures and other priority zones, and perform limited climbing-based pruning where needed to reduce ladder fuels and fire spread.

Surface Fuels

We break up concentrated fuel areas in priority zones and address fuels that contribute to fire spread without turning the service into full-site cleanup.

Debris Management

The base product includes chipping of woody debris up to 6 inches in diameter, plus removal of up to one truck load of chipped material from site. Remaining eligible material can be chipped and left on-site in a controlled manner.

Access and Defensible Space

We improve clearance around structures and key access routes, reduce vegetation around personal service hydro lines to improve clearance and reduce fire risk, and address vegetation limiting safe movement or response.

Identified Risks and Next Steps

We flag high-risk areas and priority concerns, identify trees requiring specialized equipment or additional work, and provide clear recommendations for follow-up where needed.

This service is focused on wildfire risk reduction, not general property cleanup or landscaping.

Scope of work

We perform targeted vegetation management in high-priority, accessible areas. Work is focused on the parts of the property with the greatest impact on fire behaviour.

Tree work limits

Tree removal included in this service is limited to stems up to 8 inches in diameter. Larger trees requiring removal will be identified and quoted separately.

Climbing may be performed as part of this service, but only for lower canopy, fire-related pruning. Full canopy pruning, aesthetic pruning, large removals, and technical rigging are not included.

Debris handling

Chipping is limited to material up to 6 inches in diameter. The base product includes one truck load of chipped material removed from site. Additional loads can be removed for an added cost. Remaining chipped material may be left on-site in a controlled manner.

Property limits

All work is limited to within the customer’s property boundaries only. We do not perform work on neighbouring or adjacent properties, even if vegetation falls within a recommended wildfire treatment zone. Off-property risks can be identified and discussed for awareness.

General limits

This is not full property clearing, fine yard cleanup, junk removal, or a landscaping package. Debris may be left in a reduced and manageable condition unless additional haulage is added.

Additional Debris Haulage

The base product includes one truck load of chipped material removed from site. If additional material needs to be hauled away, extra loads can be added.

Targeted Tree Removal

Trees larger than the base service limit, or trees requiring specialized equipment, can be quoted separately for removal.

Defensible Space Expansion

For larger properties or sites with more extensive fuel buildup, we can expand treatment beyond the base scope into additional areas of the property.

Ongoing Property Maintenance

Some sites benefit from scheduled follow-up visits to keep fuel conditions under control and prevent regrowth from rebuilding risk too quickly.

A half-day maintenance visit designed to keep previously treated properties in a defensible condition year after year.

Once a property has had a full Wildfire Prep Day, an annual maintenance visit helps keep the work from slipping backward. This service is designed for regrowth control, fuel touch-ups, and continued wildfire readiness.

What the annual maintenance package includes

Home Ignition Zone

Remove new combustible vegetation and organic buildup immediately adjacent to structures and maintain reduced fuel conditions around the home.

Intermediate Zone

Cut back new ladder fuels in priority areas near structures and access routes, maintain spacing between trees and understory, and address regrowth contributing to fuel continuity.
